AI software, specified and priced
AI writing assistants, image and video generators, SEO tools, and chatbots — with pricing, plans, and what each one actually does.
Almost every product in this category is built on the same handful of underlying models, which means the model itself is rarely what separates them. What differs is the workflow wrapped around it: whether the tool holds your brand guidelines, whether it reads live search results before drafting, whether it hands you an editable timeline or a finished file, and how much of your existing stack it can reach.
The six groups below split along those lines rather than by underlying technology. Writing tools optimise for drafting and editing at volume. Image, video, and voice tools are judged mostly on output control — how precisely you can steer a result, and what rights you hold over it. SEO and marketing tools add search data to the generation step. Automation tools are less about generating text than about connecting systems that would otherwise need manual handoffs. Chatbots and assistants are general-purpose. The free and cheap group cuts across all of these.
Pricing is where this category is least comparable at a glance. Some products charge a flat monthly seat, others meter by generated words, credits, minutes of audio, or API calls — and a credit is not a standard unit, so two tools at the same headline price can differ several-fold in what you actually get. Where a product meters usage, we say so on its page rather than reducing it to a single monthly figure.
Worth checking before committing to any of these: what happens to your content if you stop paying, whether your inputs train the vendor's models, and whether the output can be used commercially without attribution. Those terms vary far more between products than the features do.
